About These Costs

These costs have been developed as guides to help students anticipate their costs at UNC Chapel Hill. Some students will spend more than the typical amounts, others less, depending on individual choices and circumstances.

Financial aid, however, is calculated on the basis of these standard budgets.

Costs for an upcoming academic year are updated and posted after estimated budgets for books and supplies, food and housing, and personal expenses/transportation are determined by the University.

They could be updated if the legislature alters final tuition and fee costs.
