Currently enrolled UNC students pre-register for spring semester.
Enrolled students and prospective students should search for outside scholarships for the next academic year by accessing the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid Scholarship Resource Center.
The Frances L. Phillips Travel Scholarship application deadline is October 15.

January

Pogue Scholarship application deadline for out-of-state residents: January 5
Out-of-state residents who wish to apply for the Pogue Scholarship must apply for admission to the University by January 15 for Pogue Scholarship consideration.
Undergraduates and graduate/professional students complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the upcoming academic year to apply for financial aid for the upcoming academic year. March 1 is the financial aid priority deadline for filing the FAFSA. Use estimated figures if necessary to meet the March 1 priority-filing deadline. The FAFSA must be mailed or submitted online by February 15 to meet the March 1 priority deadline.

Though FAFSA forms are available in 111 Pettigrew Hall for walk-ins, due to the large number of requests and costs, this office is unable to mail out individual copies of the FAFSA form. It is fairly easy to acquire them through other sources, though. The FAFSA can be obtained at a local library, high school guidance office, or in any college or university financial aid office.

Note: You should receive a Student Aid Report from the Federal Government Processor acknowledging your FAFSA. If you do not receive this report within 30 days after filing the application, call the federal processor at 1-800-433-3243 (1-800-4FEDAID) or check online at FAFSA on the Web. Do not automatically assume your FAFSA data will be sent to us by the March 1 priority deadline.
Only undergraduates complete the CSS/PROFILE form for the upcoming academic year to apply for financial aid for the upcoming academic year.March 1 is the financial aid priority deadline for filing the PROFILE. The PROFILE must be mailed or submitted online by February 15 to meet the March 1 priority deadline.
Though PROFILE forms are available in 111 Pettigrew Hall for walk-ins, due to the large number of requests and costs, this office is unable to mail out individual copies of the PROFILE form. The CSS/PROFILE is available from CSS by phoning 1-800-778-6888.
Financial aid electronically disbursements to students' Cashiers accounts the first week of classes for students with complete aid awards who are registered for spring semester hours meeting award expectations.
Any aid refund exceeding University charges refunded to student the first week of classes.
Admissions deadline for merit-based scholarship consideration January 15.

February

Complete past year's Federal Income Tax Return to use in applying for aid.
If filing a paper FAFSA for the upcoming academic year, you must mail the form no later than February 15 to meet the March 1 deadline.
Enrollment agreements for Study Abroad Programs due February 14 for upcoming year-long and fall only programs.
Summer Aid Applications for Dental Students available for current dental students planning to attend summer school and are due by March 15. Dental students only should submit the web forms:
1) Financial Aid Application, and
2) Dentistry Rotations (3rd year only)
Note: A current-year FAFSA must be on file for a student to be considered for summer aid. If one was not filed, do so now at FAFSA on the Web.

March

March 1 priority filing deadline for submitting FAFSA and PROFILE applications.
Applications received by the federal processor after March 1 may not be eligible for certain federal and state grants, institutional grants, Federal Work -Study, or Perkins Loans.

Summer Aid Application available for current non-dental students planning to attend summer school and are due by April 1. Students should read about applying for Summer Financial Aid and complete the appropriate form(s).

Admitted incoming freshmen that applied by March 1 are notified of eligibility for CCI computer laptop grants and must purchase computers by May 1 to pick up and use in CTOPS Summer Orientation Sessions.
