Non-need Based Loans

Non-need-based loans are available to students who have little to no financial need. These loans may be borrowed in lieu of the Expected Family Contribution.

Non-need-based loans include:

•  Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loans,
•  Federal PLUS Loans for parent borrowers,
•  Federal PLUS Loans for graduate students, and
•  private student loans.

Undergraduate dependent students who wish to apply for an unsubsidized Stafford Loan should request from and send to the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid an Unsubsidized Stafford Loan Request Form.

Parents of dependent undergraduate students who wish to borrow a PLUS Loan should request from and send to the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid a PLUS Request Form.
