Federal Work-Study

Funded primarily by the federal government, Federal Work-Study Programs allow needy students to earn part of their financial aid through employment on campus and in community service agencies. Students approved for Work-Study Programs may select from a variety of jobs to meet their interests, skills, and career plans.

Students who receive Work-Study as a part of their financial aid award will be sent instructions for viewing job descriptions on the Internet the summer before they arrive on campus. Students begin scheduling interviews during the first week of classes for the positions that are of particular interest to their academic and career related goals.

The Student Guide from the U.S. Department of Education provides some general questions and answers to Federal Work-Study concerns.
