Loan Requirements
After accepting your loans in ConnectCarolina Student Center you may have loan requirements added to your 'To-Do' list that must be completed in order to receive disbursement of your loan. The below guides can help you to complete the requested items.
The first time you accept a federal student loan, you will need to complete entrance counseling and a master promissory note.
Log into your account and find the links for Complete Loan Counseling and Complete Loan Agreement.
As a PLUS Loan borrower you must complete an online application. The Office of Scholarships and Student Aid receives all completed PLUS applications on the next business day and will add the loan as part of your financial aid award.
Select the type of PLUS Loan you are requesting — either a Grad PLUS Loan for graduate/professional students, or a Parent PLUS Loan for the parent of undergraduate students.
As a first-year student or first-time borrower of these loans you are required to sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and complete student loan entrance counseling. The MPN and loan counseling can be completed online. It could take up to 10 business days for your MPN to be available for signature on the ECSI website.
Please note when completing the MPN, you will be asked the following:
1. Cost of attendance for the period of enrollment covered by the loan

2. Estimated Financial Assistance for the period of enrollment covered by the loan
Navigate to your financial aid award for the appropriate aid year
To calculate the estimated financial assistance, use the total aid and subtract the amount of the Health Professions Loan or Loan for Disadvantaged Student.
