= Calculated Financial Need
This is the total amount our office can offer you in need-based state or university grants, subsidized & institutional loans, and certain outside scholarships. If this number is zero or negative, you do not have calculated financial need. To determine adjustments that may occur due to departmental funding or to know if you will have additional borrowing eligibility use the eligibility calculations in the next step.

Remaining Aid Eligibility
Remaining aid eligibility represents the amount of need-based aid (grants, scholarships, need-based loans) that can be offered by The Office of Scholarship & Student Aid AFTER departmental funding, student award payments, or outside scholarships. Remaining eligibility calculated as a negative number represents the amount our office may adjust your need-based aid by. If these awards are reported after your initial aid offer, we will adjust aid initially offered by our office to ensure need-based aid does not exceed your calculated financial need.
Non-Need-Based Aid Adjustments
Total Cost of Attendance
The cost of attendance amount from Step 1 is used to determine changes to non-need-based aid if you are receiving departmental funding, student award payments, or outside scholarships

Remaining Aid Eligibility
If this number is greater than 0, no changes are needed to your existing aid offer. If this number less than 0 (or a negative number), aid initially offered by the Office of Scholarships & Student Aid will be adjusted such that the total aid does not exceed the cost of attendance.
