Receiving Aid

Receiving Aid

Disbursement is when our office releases accepted financial aid to your student account with the university. Due to federal regulations we are unable to release financial aid until 7 to 10 days before the first day of classes for the university. To help you understand when your aid may be released based on your program of study, please find your program below. Please keep in mind disbursement dates are estimated and subject to change.

A couple of things to keep in mind about disbursement:

  • Disbursement holds on financial aid prevent aid from being disbursed until they are resolved
  • If your aid is based on full-time enrollment and you are not enrolled full-time your aid will be held until you enroll full-time, or until aid is adjusted to reflect your enrollment
    • If you have been approved to underload (academic, medical or senior), you will need to be sure to complete the underload adjustment request form to have your budget and aid adjusted to reflect the underload so your aid can disburse
  • If you are receiving loans and not enrolled in the minimum required hours to receive loans (6 for undergraduates, 4.5 for graduates) your loans will not disburse
  • Once aid is disbursed towards your bill (student account) with the university and after charges are covered, you may be eligible for a refund. Refunds are processed by the university cashier’s office, typically around the first day of classes.
