Guide for Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loans

About Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loans

Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loans are available to any student so long as they have completed a FAFSA and have remaining eligibility in their cost of attendance.

PLUS loans are credit-based, meaning they require an online application and a credit check. Students can obtain a co-signer, if needed.

Interest rates vary depending on when the loan is disbursed, but the rate remains fixed for the lifetime of the loan.

Accepting or Adjusting Graduate PLUS Loans

PLUS Loan borrowers must complete an online application at studentloans.gov. The Office of Scholarships and Student Aid receives all completed PLUS applications on the next business day and will add the loan as part of your financial aid award.login_fsa
