Carolina Scholarships
Carolina Scholarships
The Carolina Scholarships were established in the 1990s to attract the most academically qualified students to UNC, regardless of financial need. Recipients demonstrate superior academic achievement, self-direction, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine motivation for learning. Carolina Scholars are automatically invited to join the UNC Scholars Program, which grew in part out of the Carolina Scholars Program. There are nearly forty named Carolina Scholarships representing many donors; while most are specific to NC residents, there are several that are earmarked for non-residents.
