Work-Study
Graduate Student Work-Study
Please note, graduate students are not automatically awarded Work-Study funding. UNC currently offers the opportunity to participate in a limited, pilot, FWS program for a select number of graduate students.
To participate in the program, you must:
- Locate a UNC faculty/staff member willing to create a position before applying
- After having a supervisor and job secured, you must complete the trainings and quiz and your supervisors must complete the required trainings and quiz
- Lastly, you must complete the application form to be accepted to the pilot program here and email it to work-study@unc.edu
Usually supervisors post WS jobs in early June and students will start to apply in mid-July. Graduate students are only able to apply to federal work study positions currently and not Carolina work positions. It is up to the graduate student to locate a supervisor and position (graduate students will not have access to the undergraduate Jobx position listings).
Jobx is the only method for FWS supervisors to hire students. Please carefully review the OSSA WS website and if you have any additional questions feel free to email work-study@unc.edu!
